Game of the Year Awards 2012

Hey TA’ers!

As the nights close in and the temperature drops, I can sense the excitement building... yes, Game of the Year season is upon us once again!

Last year was a huge success with over 250 games battling it out for the honour of being named the TrueAchievements Game of the Year. After the smoke had cleared and a record number of votes had been cast, it was the Dovah (that's dragon for those who aren't Skyrim fans) that soared the highest.

Despite the success, this is no time to rest on our laurels; we needed to make it bigger and (most importantly) better. After analysing the voting patterns from last year, each poll is only going to be open for 3 days and the entire GOTY voting period will only last 2 weeks as opposed to one month. Voting for the first poll opens tomorrow.

One of the things we wanted to do last year, but didn’t get the opportunity, was achievement polls. It's always bothered me that on an achievement website we've never been able to pick the funniest or most satisfying achievement of the year… until now! This year the fourth poll will be concentrating solely on achievements. Maybe put the latter to good use on that one achievement that you spent all summer getting.

And lastly, continuing the trend set by our previous events, the hub is back. It's your one stop shop for everything GOTY related.

Will it be Halo 4, Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, Assassin's Creed III or maybe even Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants . The choice is yours in the TrueAchievements Game of the Year 2012.

Like last year all results will be hidden and revealed in a news post after Christmas. Take a look at the hub and start thinking about your top three for each of the questions.

Have fun voting,

Clever Jake
