Hitman HD Trilogy Officially Confirmed

The worst kept secret in the gaming world has finally been officially confirmed. In less than two months time, the Hitman franchise will be the latest to receive an HD trilogy release. Although retailers have carried listings for months, Square Enix decided that the right time to announce the HD trilogy was today.

Before the release of this year's Hitman: Absolution, there were four games in the Hitman franchise. Hitman: Blood Money had already seen an Xbox 360 release, so you'd think that the first three games in the franchise would be the games included in the HD collection, wouldn't you? Well, you'd be wrong. Those of you who have yet to play Hitman: Codename 47, the first game in the franchise, will need to find yourself a PC copy as it isn't included in the collection. Instead, gamers will get Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money all in one box.

13/12/12 Hitman HD Trilogy

In Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Agent 47 has decided to retire and retreat to a Sicilian church in order to find peace. Father Vittorio becomes Agent 47's mentor and supervises his work as a gardener. When Father Vittorio is kidnapped, Agent 47 finds a ransom note and returns to his job as an assassin to try and find Father Vittorio.

Hitman: Contracts sees a wounded Agent 47 return to his hotel room where he collapses and suffers flashbacks of previous assassinations that he has carried out. The flashbacks take Agent 47 across the world as he revisits his missions.

In Hitman: Blood Money, Agent 47 and his agency are threatened by a rival organization. Will Agent 47 be able to track down his rival hitmen before he becomes a target himself?

The three games include over 40 missions between them, all of which have been upgraded to HD graphics. The collection arrives in North America on January 29th, 2013 and in PAL regions on February 1st.
