Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is Coming

The worst-kept, oft-leaked news of the day became official this morning as Gearbox has confirmed that "Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt" will be the next DLC package for their smash hit, Borderlands 2.

After taking over Gearbox's @ECHOcasts Twitter feed yesterday, Sir Hammerlock enticed gamers with some amusing tweets (a much more civilized brand than the previous occupant, MR. TORGUE!) like the following:

What ho, chums!

Yes, yes. Sir Hammerlock here. My tweets may not be as "explosive" as our old friend Torgue's, but I've news to share nonetheless!

And by the by, worry not about Torgue -- I've simply appropriated his ECHO account. He's perfectly safe.

...That is, presuming he doesn't try to benchpress *himself* again. Horrible incident. Sweat and creatine everywhere.

Anyway -- to information. I've an expedition to embark upon, and I'd very much enjoy it if you ladies and gentleman joined me on it.

The expedition -- as many of you have likely gleaned from the rather frustratingly effective investigators amongst you -- is called:

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt!

...He shouted at the masses, surprising precisely *no one,* as they'd already heard the title on Joystiq or something like that. Ah, well.
The scholar-gentleman-hunter then delighted followers with a picture of him surrounded by the deadliest weapons on Pandora, books.

Sir 1

*Note: He is holding the second-most-dangerous weapon, a Jakobs sniper rifle.

Gearbox has taken things a step further this morning with a trailer:

"Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt" is set for a January 15th, 2013 release. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled to our daily Xbox LIVE Countdown deals post, as the Borderlands 2 Season Pass (which nets you the first four DLC packs for one low price) is set to go on sale soon. Those not interested in the Season Pass can probably pick up this Campaign Add-On for 800 MSP.
