Rumours over the status of the Major League Baseball
franchise surfaced back in May. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company that encompasses publisher 2K Sports, left any mention of MLB out of their fiscal year 2013 report. The reason for this was the expiration of the agreement between 2K Sports, Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, and Major League Baseball Advanced Media to release the game. With no hints at an extension of the agreement, many people feared that we would never see any future Major League Baseball
Those fears were unfounded. Today, 2K Sports announced that another agreement had been reached between the interested parties and that Major League Baseball 2K13
would be released in just two months' time. Tampa Bay Rays' pitcher David Price has been chosen to grace the cover of the title. After winning the American League Cy Young Award, Price is the third consecutive reigning Cy Young Award winner to appear on the covers of the franchise.
2K Sports' annual $1 million Perfect Game Challenge will also be returning, but this time there is a new contest format. Aside from that little titbit, we don't have any more details of the challenge — these will be announced at a later date.Major League Baseball 2K13
is due to be released on March 5th.
