DLC Recalculation: The Results

By Michelle Balsan, 5 years ago
Last week, we asked for your input on a very important matter: The possible recalculation of DLC ratios. After seven days of polling, and well over 1,000 comments on the matter, the votes are in, and an option has been selected.

Should DLC ratios be recalculated?
Yes - 72.4%
No - 27.6%

As you can see, the overwhelming majority of you have sided with "Yes" - so we are going to investigate changing the DLC ratio calculation.

The question many of you are probably asking now is where do we go from here? As those of you who took some time to read this thread have discovered, many possible suggestions have been put forward for an alternative formula that might more accurately reflect the difficulty of obtaining DLC achievements.

Our plan now is to appoint a panel to examine the alternatives and come up with additional formulae for consideration. If you are interested in assisting us, please PM TrueAchievement. Rich will gather the PMs and send a small questionnaire to interested parties. Preference will be given to those that have already been heavily involved in suggesting and analysing alternatives.

We would like the panel to come up with a shortlist of two or three formulas. Once the options are settled on, Rich and the panel will create a spreadsheet that we can then share with everyone that will show the affect the formula will have on each and every DLC ratio, and a public vote will be held as to which option will be adopted for DLC recalculation (or to keep the existing one if you feel none are better). We anticipate this process will take a few weeks, so please be patient in the mean time.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll! If you'd like to be considered for the panel, please send a PM right here.
