Marketplace Schedule - April 6th - April 20th

By zigs00, 8 years ago
Reliable ol' Major Nelson released the fortnightly schedule of upcoming Marketplace content, covering Deals of the Week, XBLA releases, Games on Demand and the Avatar Marketplace content.

As I feel the need to point out each time, please remember that this is solely what Microsoft has announced, and there will no doubt be plenty more from other developers and publishers hitting the Marketplace too. Also note that the entire schedule is subject to change!

The following list is in chronological order, starting with today:
April 6th - Games on Demand
Fable II (Everywhere, excluding Japan)
Fallout 3 (Europe, Australia and New Zealand)

April 7th - Game Add-ons
Mega Man 10 Bass character - 80 MSP
Mega Man 10 Special Stage 1, 80 MSP

April 12th - Deal of the Week
Crash Course for Left 4 Dead, reduced from 560 MSP to 320 MSP
The Maw, 50% off from 800 MSP to 400 MSP (Japan only)

April 13th - Game Add-ons
Forza Motorsport 3 Road & Track Car Pack - 400 MSP

April 13th - Games on Demand
Tomb Raider: Legend (North America only)
Devil May Cry 4 (Europe, Australia and New Zealand)

April 13th - Avatar Marketplace
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction collection

April 14th - XBLA Wednesday
- 800 MSP
More info here: Final Fight: Double Impact Release Date Announced

April 15th - Avatar Marketplace
Forza Motorsport 3 collection

April 19th - Deal of the Week, 50% off from 800 MSP to 400 MSP

April 20th - Games on Demand
Halo 3
Saints Row (Europe only)

Still no mention of the seemingly absent XBLA release this Wednesday, which could be a first time we don't see a new title on a Wednesday! But those great DLC discounts do look awfully tempting. Ideally, I'd love to see next week's style repeated, with each DotW seeing a discount on both an XBLA title and a retail game's DLC. Wishful thinking?

Señor Hyrb also revealed the winners of the Best XBLA Games on 2009 that MS ran recently. You may remember having only two choices per category, so I've taken the liberty of listing the nominees as well. Over a million of us Xbox gamers voted, and the results are as follows:

Best Overall Arcade Game
Winner: Trials HD
Runner-up: Shadow Complex

Best Original Game
Winner: Splosion Man
Runner-up: The Maw

Best Family Game
Winner: Family Game Night
Runner-up: Peggle

Best Co-Operative Multiplayer
Winner: Battlefield 1943
Runner-up: Splosion Man

Best Competitive Multiplayer
Winner: Battlefield 1943
Runner-up: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Best Solo Game
Winner: Shadow Complex
Runner-up: Trials HD

Best Innovation
Winner: Trials HD
Runner-up: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Best Graphics
Winner: Shadow Complex
Runner-up: Lucidity

Best Classic/Remake
Winner: Banjo-Tooie
Runner-up: The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

Whoever voted Banjo-Tooie over The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is completely crazy! Glad to see Twisted Pixel win Best Original Game, they had very low odds on winning that category! What do you guys reckon, deserved winners across the board? Anything you'd disagree with? Which games did you vote for?
