Madden 25 Cover Vote Kicks Off

By Mark Delaney, 4 years ago
If the title of this news confuses you, that probably means you missed the announcement of Madden NFL 25. In recognition of a quarter century of the Madden football series, EA Sports is expanding the third annual fan-decided cover vote to 64 athletes, 32 current stars and 32 legends of the game. Every team is represented once in each era. Each round of voting will last one week with the finals concluding on April 27th.

Today, the full bracket including the first round matchups were revealed at ESPN's SportsNation site. You can vote on all 32 current matchups. There are some great matchups involved here early on, like Hall of Fame runningbacks Curtis Martin versus Jerome Bettis and rising stars Julio Jones versus Jimmy Graham. Strangely, Reggie Wayne, current wideout for Indianapolis, is included among the legends.

Last year, nearly 20 million votes were tallied by the end of the campaign. Who will get your vote this year? Personally, I'll be pulling for the rookie phenom Russell Wilson, or, if a legend were to win, I'd want it to be Jerry Rice (also known to many as the league's greatest of all-time).

Madden NFL 25 will hit stores on August 27th.
