The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is set to take the zombie-slaying gameplay down a completely different route, compared to the well-received XBLA title, The Walking Dead. The latter concentrated on developing a strong storyline in a point-and-click adventure, but Survival Instinct will fall into the first-person shooter genre.
Despite the distinct differences in each game's respective genre (as well as the fact they are the brain child of different developers), Activision and Terminal Reality want to make sure that we know that The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will not be lacking in terms of storyline and characterisation. To back up that stance, the team at Activision has released a new developer diary for the title, in which Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker discuss the gameplay setting, storyline and other elements of the new game. Both actors also highlight how they worked on bringing their characters from the TV show into the game.
The latest fight for survival will begin in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, when the title is released on March 19th in North America and March 22nd in Europe. Pre-ordering the game in the UK and Ireland will garner a head start for gamers, courtesy of the inclusion of the "Walker Herd Survival Pack" DLC content.
