Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 Dismemberment DLC Canned By litepink, 22 Mar 2013 FollowtopicsSniper: Ghost Warrior 2Sniper: Ghost WarriorCI GamesFirst Person Shooter One of the original bullet points for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was the ability to dismember a limb with a well-placed sniper shot. This sounded gory and fascinating, but maybe a bit too fascinating for publisher City Interactive. They feared this feature wouldn't pass stricter German censorship standards. Rather than eliminating the feature altogether they decided to work around this in a clever way by releasing this as a feature in free downloadable content (outside of Germany) at launch. We detailed this back in June of last year. Following this, the game featured a series of delays, but finally released. The game's launch came and went, in addition to some free content. Missing was the dismemberment feature still. Now, from the looks of it, this will never come to fruition. In a statement made to VideoGamer the publisher had this to offer: "I can confirm that CI Games are no longer going to be releasing the dismemberment DLC," a representative told the site. There's no inclination as to why this has been cancelled, but the statement is pretty cut and dry. It appears you can shoot someone in the head or shoot someone in the crotch, but the limbs are staying attached in Sniper Ghost Warrior 2.Is this something that will be sorely missed? Were consumers misled by this initial promise? The premise certainly had a shock value to it that could turn heads or get people talking, but we'll never know now if this would have added a great benefit to the game. We've got the full list of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.More Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 stories: XBL Content Summary for the Holidays [UPDATE] Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Demo Released Retail DLC Roundup: June 25th, 2013 Retail & XBLA DLC Roundup: June 4th, 2013 Retail & XBLA DLC Roundup: April 16th, 2013 Xbox 360
