Thief In-Engine Teaser Trailer Steps From Shadows

A few weeks ago, we brought you the exciting news that Eidos Montréal and Square Enix, the teams behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution, would be rebooting the popular Thief franchise in a new game for PCs and next-gen consoles.

Eidos Montréal have now followed up that announcement with a tantalising teaser trailer, which also serves as the first glimpse of in-engine footage for the title.

As one of the devs explains on the official Eidos Montréal blog:

The coolest thing about this video is that it was completely captured in-engine, in real time. And YES, I can confirm that what you’re seeing is Garrett’s actual 3D mesh that is used in the game.
As the teaser shows, we can expect more Thief related goodness on April 2nd.

Thief is due for a 2014 release. Whether this will include the Xbox 360 as well as the next-gen consoles is still unknown.
