CoD: Black Ops II Gets an Uprising

If there is one thing that we can rely on here at Trueachievements, it's the fact that retailers will leak any information about DLC long before Activision mentions anything. True to form, days after promotional material appeared at Best Buy, Activision has finally confirmed that the second piece of DLC for the game will be "Uprising". The DLC will include four new multiplayer maps and another zombie mode.

The new "Mob of the Dead" zombies mode places players into the roles of four prohibition era mobsters: Billy Handsome (voiced by Ray Liotta), Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca (voiced by Chazz Palminteri), Al “The Weasel” Arlington (voiced by Joe Pantoliano), and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (voiced by Michael Madsen). The gang are serving sentences in Alcatraz Prison, but they're not planning to stick around for long. Unfortunately, their breakout plans are put on hold with a zombie outbreak. They must fight through the steel cells and concrete buildings that are filled with an increasing horde of undead prisoners and guards. All they have to use are firearms, blunt instruments and improvised weaponry. If one of the mobsters doesn't survive, he will enter a state of Purgatory that sends the player into the afterlife. Activision promises that the mode's new set of objectives will offer fans "a truly new and unique experience".

“Magma” is the first new map, which places players in a modern Japanese village complete with a river of volcanic lava running through the centre of the town courtesy of a nearby erupting volcano. The second map, “Encore”, is set in an outdoor amphitheatre in London right after the end of a music festival. "Vertigo" is the third map and players battle it out in a high-tech laboratory set on top of a futuristic skyscraper in India. The final map, "Studio" will bring back memories of "Firing Range" from Call of Duty: Black Ops. The movie back lot, with themes ranging from Sci-Fi to the Old West, is set in the middle of Hollywood, California.

"Uprising" is due to be released first on Xbox 360 on April 16th. The map pack will cost 1200 MSP, although Season Pass holders will be able to download the map pack in-game at no extra cost.

Thanks to the many community members who sent this one in!
