We know the summer season tends to be a pretty dry one for games. With all the great, AAA titles clamoring for those March or Holiday release dates, the summer usually winds up something of a wasteland.
Of course, one thing that can frequently be counted on during the warmer months (at least for us Northern Hemisphere types), is movie tie-in titles. Yes, these are generally one step above shovelware and yes, we tend to get them for the relatively easy GamerScore, but at least it's something right?
Activision has announced today that it will be throwing its hat in the ring of summer releases with Fast & Furious: Showdown
, a game that will come out right ahead of the upcoming Fast & Furious 6
In Fast & Furious: Showdown
, players will get to choose the role of driver, gunman, tactician, or daredevil as they take part in high-stakes driving missions. It will feature two-player co-op, the ability to mod your car, and a Challenge Mode where you can engage other players in a battle for bragging rights.Fast & Furious: Showdown
will be available on May 21st for the budget price of $39.99 in North America. The game will release in Europe on May 24th. Make of that news what you will.
