During the 2006 E3 press conference, SquareEnix announced the PS3 exclusives Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. We all know about Final Fantasy XIII and its largely publicized shift from PlayStation 3 staple to multiplatform glory. Now it appears that SquareEnix is looking to bring the latest Final Fantasy game to the 360.
Speaking at the investor meeting, Japanese company Impress Watch asked SquareEnix head Yoichi Wada if Final Fantasy Versus XIII was jumping the boat of Sony exclusive. Wade responded with this juicy comment:
We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.
This implies something big for the upcoming E3 Expo of 2010. Square had all ready promised an official run down on the Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the world this year at E3, but this makes it all the more interesting to pay attention to the on going saga of Sony exclusives slipping away.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the second installment in a trilogy of games starting with the recently released (and 5 million unit seller) Final Fantasy XIII. The conclusion of the trilogy will be with (for now) Sony exclusive Final Fantasy Agito XIII.Check out our The Best Xbox RPGs Available in 2017 article for a compilation of other great games in this genre.
