Just recently we were able to report on the unveiling of the new title from developer Rubicon Organization, Narco Terror.
As previously reported, Narco Terror is a twin-stick shooter that tries recapture the feeling of the classic action movies from the eighties with ex-special ops agent Rick Quinn taking up the role of the action hero and one-man-army. The game also features a storyline that could have come straight from the same genre of films with the daughter of Quinn having been kidnapped by a drug cartel leader named Delgado, who is using her as leverage against having his smuggling ring exposed. Unsurprisingly, Quinn will stop at nothing to get his daugther back, and this one-man-army has an appropriately diverse weaponry to aid him in his quest.
According to Rubicon we can expect to see the following in the upcoming game:
An arsenal of customizable weapons, different ammo types from explosive rounds to tesla coils, grenades, power-ups, upgrades and character progression allow a rich variety in Quinn's crusade through hostile territory. Quinn also has a love for heavy machinery, and will be piloting helicopters and aircraft, battling through enemy lines consisting of massive tanks, armed helicopters and fast planes. Add different play modes from 2D side-scrolling to top down vertical sequences, all presented in blazing visuals, Narco Terror offers game play diversification never seen before.
With a tagline 'Dishing out Justice, one grenade at a time!' the game could well be explosive fun.
Narco Terror is due to hit XBLA sometime this Summer.
