Electronic Arts has revealed the first piece of DLC content for Crytek's futuristic shooter, Crysis 3
, titled "Crysis 3
: The Lost Island".
The main game may have taken place in an almost unrecognisable New York City landscape, but the additional content will see gamers travel far outside the city limits to the West Pacific to confront the threat from Rebel forces. EA and Crytek have jointly confirmed that the premium content will add "four new breath-taking maps, two additional multiplayer modes, Frenzy and Possession, and deadly new weapons".
The following details, as well as a bunch of screenshots, have been released to paint a picture of the new surroundings:
In Crysis 3: The Lost Island, traces of a mysterious alien presence have been discovered on a small island in the Philippines 200 miles from Ling Shan. Rebel forces have been dispatched to destroy this unknown extraterrestrial entity before an elite CELL team has the chance to obtain it… by any means necessary.
Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, also explained why the development team made the decision to choose the West Pacific as the locale for the DLC:
