R.I.P.D.: The Game
(or Rest In Peace Department) has been announced today by ATLUS and Old School Games. For those unaware, R.I.P.D.
is actually based on a Dark Horse comic book of the same name and has since gained a cult following that has also warranted a movie.
In R.I.P.D.: The Game
players will control two lawman whose sole duty is to protect and serve the living by vanquishing an army of souls that refuse to cross over to the other side. By "players" we mean it will support 2 player online co-op.
For those who have a more competitive side, there is an in-game betting system where co-op partners can challenge each other through various means, such as: capturing the most enemies, last man standing, and other action-packed challenges. You can put your in-game money where your mouth is and find out who is the superior gunslinger.
For those worried about the authenticity of the game, you'll be pleased to know that Old School Games has been working closely with Universal to make sure both the game and movie are in sync (no, not the boy band) with each other.
Expect over the top action from R.I.P.D.: The Game
when it hits XBLA this Summer for 800 MSP.
