So by now, we know the drill. A new Spider-Man game is announced. We play it, we're annoyed and disappointed. Deep down, we more or less know what to expect from the gameplay before we put the game in our Xbox.
But, what if there was a new Spider-Man game and it was genuinely different from all of the others? That might just be the case with the forthcoming Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
The game incorporates a first person perspective much like that seen in Mirrors Edge. The reveal trailer actually gives little away about the exact use of this control system aside from the fact it appears to give the battles a much more intimate and intense perspective.
Shattered Dimensions will allow players to jump into the role of Spider-Man across four different periods. Some teasing information is given in the trailer revealing our trusty hero, The Amazing Spider-Man, and star of the Great Depression, Spider-Man Noir. The remaining playable versions of Spider-Man remain to be confirmed. The trailer also offers a glimpse of the enemies we'll be going web-to-toe with, and initial reactions tell me that this could shape up to be a much needed revamp and improvement in the Spider-Man series.
