Kingdom Hearts III Confirmed For Xbox One

By Michelle Balsan,
Ten years ago, Kingdom Hearts launched on the Playstation 2. While it seemed odd in concept - a game that married the worlds of Square's popular Final Fantasy franchise and some of Disney's most famed characters - the game was a huge success, eventually spawning one core sequel and a host of other offshoot titles set in the same universe.

Yesterday, Square revealed that KINGDOM HEARTS III was in development. This reveal was cheered by many, though the series' history left many believing that Xbox One owners would miss out. Today, however, Square confirmed the game would be multi-platform, so Xbox One owners can now consider this title a potential member of their gaming library.

In Kingdom Hearts III, an older and more mature Sora sets out on a quest with Donald and Goofy to visit various Disney worlds in search of the “Key to Return Hearts,” as they attempt to stop Master Xehanort’s plan to cause a Keyblade War. In the meanwhile, King Mickey and Riku set off in search of previous Keyblade wielders who can help bring an end to the was before it can start.

As the trailer reminds us, the game is "Now in Development," meaning there is no release window at this time.
