We haven't heard anything about the game in a year and a half so it should come as no surprise that Ubisoft has now confirmed what seemed evident: https://www.trueachievements.com/Rainbow-6-Patriots/ach....htm
is heading to the next generation of consoles rather than our current one. Revealed exclusively to IGN
, Ubisoft's Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Tony Key shared the thought process behind the decision.
We can’t -- and we don’t want to -- make ten giant blockbuster games at the same time. We’re absolutely making another Rainbow 6. We’ve already said so. We just, as we enter this new generation, have to make sure we make the right game at the right time with the right feature sets. And Rainbow 6 got caught in the transition of going to next-gen and essentially we’re figuring out ‘well, are we making the right game for the right hardware systems?
He added that Ubisoft has nothing else to share about Rainbow 6
for now but that it's a really exciting project and they "can't wait to say more." In conclusion, it's good news to hear the project is still in development, but it's bad news for 360 gamers not making the jump to the Xbox One.
