The multiplatform puzzle game Wordament
has received an update, bringing along some new features suited for both Wordament
regulars as well as welcoming newcomers. Xbox integration has been an integral part of the game’s success but now people will have the option to sign-in with either their Windows Live ID, or with Facebook. There’s also still the option to sign-in as a guest, but those who choose that route won’t have any of their statistics saved. The only way to earn achievements is still through your gamertag and Microsoft account.
Along with the Facebook integration comes a new social feature available to you no matter how you choose to sign-in. After each round you can tap to share your accomplishments with people through Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, or text. These aren’t automated spam messages often found on Facebook games, you choose when and how to share these feats.
There’s also a handful of new changes revolving around the look of Wordament
. After you download the update, you’ll notice the user interface has a bit of a different look to it. The development team at You vs. The Internet felt that with the evolution of Wordament
came the need to shuffle a few things around and give things a fresh coat of paint.Wordament
has been ported to a variety of platforms other than Windows Phone, including Apple iOS devices. The game was functional before the update, but now the game is better optimized for iPad as it is now an iOS Universal App. On your iPad you can now choose between a smaller board for easier swiping or a larger view so the letters really stand out.
Windows Phone has not been forgotten though, as a new feature to change the UI’s theme has been added, much like on Windows 8. Before, your background was the same as what was set for your operating system, but now you can switch things up in-game if you’d like. Then there’s one small change for all platforms, in which your country’s flag is now displayed next to your three character country initials.Wordament
is an ad-supported free title available for Windows Phone, Windows 8 PC, Windows 8 tablets, iOS, and a web version on xbox.com. The 2.5 version update is available now.
