As many of you know, the fourth annual international Bean Dive Day is just around the corner. We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to some of the awesome new features that have been added to make it even easier for you to join in the fun and get to know more members of the TA community.
Like last year, The Bean Dive Hub
will once again be your one-stop shop for everything Bean Dive related. This time around it will be even easier for you to register and add all of your newly started games. Once the event officially begins you'll be able to click the "Start My Dive" button, which will instantly start your Dive tracking and capture your stats at that exact moment. Any new games that you start after that point will be automatically included in your Bean Dive, meaning there's no need to add them manually like last year. Once you've popped an achievement in your final game, clicking the "Finished Dive" button will allow the site to start tracking your recovery. A message will appear on your friend feed detailing the total number of games added and the total completion percentage drop.
Another big change to previous years is that the registration period has been extended from a single day to nine days. This will allow you to gradually add games rather than trying to rush through them all within a 24 hour period. Registration opens on Saturday June 29th and closes on July 7th (annual Bean Dive Day).
For those of you who have no idea what Bean Dive Day is, it's a community wide event conceived four years ago by our very own Beanpotter
. The idea is that you add any unstarted games in your backlog to your Gamertag by popping a single achievement in each of them. Whilst starting all those new games is great, it will obviously also result in your completion percentage plummeting (scary I know). It is here though that the real challenge begins, as over the course of the next year you'll have until the next annual Bean Dive Day to work through as many of the newly added games to try and recover your completion decrease. If you want to find out more information on this year's Bean Dive you can post in the Bean Dive forums
or read the handy FAQ thread here
We'll post a reminder once registration is open and again a day or two before it closes, but in the meantime feel free to share your Bean Dive stories below and to tell us how deep you intend to Dive!
