TrueTrophies Beta Program Launched

By Rich Stone,
Here at TrueAchievements, we have a long and proud history of giving our users the features they most want to make their gaming more fun and rewarding.

Pretty much everything you can do on TA has come from suggestions from our awesome community, and that rich functionality is what has made TA grow to the size it is today.

One of the longest running and most active threads in the Site Wishlist Forum is this one:, with over 750 posts and nearly 40,000 views!

I bought the TrueTrophies domain a long time ago, just in case I ever had the time to create a TA sister site for PlayStation.

It’s now time to make TrueTrophies a reality.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be having a closed beta program to test the site. It is going to launch with all the fantastic functionality that you currently enjoy on TrueAchievements, such as:

• A True scoring system
• PlayStation news and features
• Friend feeds
• Trophy guides and game walkthroughs
• Gaming sessions
• Advanced statistical analysis
• Site and user Leader boards
• Gamer goals
• Gamer blogs
• …and much, much more

Launching a site with this much functionality is unprecedented in gaming, so we are looking for your help to test everything thoroughly before we take the PlayStation world by storm!

To be involved in the beta, you need a PSN ID (obviously), and it needs to have some trophies against it. You also need to have had a TA account for more than a month (this is to stop PlayStation gamers from signing up to TA purely to get a key to be in the beta)

If you’ve satisfied those simple criteria, and you want to help, please register here.

Some Questions You May Have

• Does this mean you are giving up on developing for TrueAchievements?
Absolutely not. The two sites share code, so anything developed for one site will automatically appear on the other. This is a real benefit, as we’ll no doubt have lots of additional good ideas from the TrueTrophies community for site improvements.

• Will there be a way to link my accounts across the two sites?
Yes there will. This will enable you to jump quickly to your homepage on the other site from your menu if your accounts are linked, as well as showing a new summary box of your TT scores on your TA homepage (and visa versa) should you so wish. These sister site panels can also be hidden across the board for all users should you have no interest in seeing them.

• Will there be a way to combine my friend feeds and/or scores?
We currently have no plans to do this, so for now the sites will be separate. However, it is not out of the realms of possibility that there could eventually be a (new) site combining this data if there were enough demand for it.

• What do I get for helping with the beta?
A warm fuzzy feeling smile.
Oh, and a new Beta Tester badge on TT!

• I signed up, when will I get my beta key?
So we don’t overburden the scanners too much, we’ll be releasing beta keys in batches. Please be patient!

That’s ok, please go about your business as if none of this has happened…

UPDATE: Registration for the beta is now closed.

Yo! Rich here - I was the one that created TrueAchievements back in 2008 as I felt the Xbox Gamerscore system could be improved. The site has evolved massively since then and it's now the biggest and best Xbox community on the planet! Racing games and open world shooters are my thing, but I'll give most genres a go. Except RPGs - those things are evil.
