As most of you know, Comic-Con 2013 has been a treasure trove of information about gaming just as it has been for movie, television, and comic fans. One series getting a lot of attention has been The Walking Dead
. On a Q&A panel at Comic-Con last week, Telltale Games
and series' creator Robert Kirkman discussed Season 1 of their joint effort even as the first official trailer for the TV series' fourth season caused quite a stir among the hundreds of fans able to get in to the Q & A.
About Season 1, Kirkman says that he "doesn't take the deaths of his characters lightly"... he "goes through a [grieving] process similar to what readers go through when they read it." He says,"It's upsetting," and he loves getting reactions from readers and viewers. He joked that many people threaten to stop watching the TV show or reading his comics after seeing what he puts his characters through, but they never do.
During the Q&A session, a few meager details emerged about Season Two of the popular game. It had already been announced that Clementine would return, at least long enough to explain the mysterious ending of Season 1; we will also learn of Kenny's fate. Beyond these reveals, Telltale is mum on how large a part either character will play in Season 2.
Perhaps most interesting, President of Telltale, Kevin Bruner, added that Season 2 will be loading all of the information from player saves from Season 1 and "400 Days," and that the decisions made there will carry over into the new season. He assured the crowd that the players' decisions would indeed matter in the upcoming episodes.
Both The Walking Dead
and its DLC "400 Days" are currently available for download on the Xbox 360. Season 2 is expected sometime this fall.
