Finally Xbox 360 owners will be able to experience the thrill of base jumping in Gaijin Entertainment's upcoming Kinect-enabled simulation of the extreme sport: Skydive: Proximity Flight
. The game was developed in consultation with real-life base jumpers Jokke Sommer, Andrey Boldyrev and Halvor Angvik, and will allow players to compete against both computer and real-life rivals in an adrenaline fuelled race to the bottom of the mountain with gravity's eager assistance.
Several game modes are on offer: In Adrenaline and Tricks mode, players will be able to perform a vast array of death-defying tricks and aerial manoeuvres to mix things up as they descend, while the Routes mode will have players trying to navigate through a series of rings to refine their falling skills. Freestyle will give you some breathing room to do whatever you like as the ground prepares to greet you.
Those without Kinect take note: The game will also allow you to play using a standard controller.
Gaijin CEO Anton Yudintsev spoke enthusiastically about their upcoming title:
Coming this fall, Skydive: Proximity Flight will let players experience the total freedom and hazardous adrenaline rush without having to physically experience world dangers associated with leaping off high places and seeing the earth hurling toward you. From a bird’s eye view of the world, players will soar over and through majestic and beautiful real-world locations while executing ridiculous tricks of varying degrees of difficulty while racing against foes.
