Achievement Preview Spotlight: Charlie Murder By Jonathan Barnes, 07 Aug 2013 FollowtopicsCharlie MurderXbox Game StudiosOnline Co-opAchievement ListBeat 'em upJonathan Barnes By popular demand last week, the majority of you said you wanted the Achievement Preview Spotlight to turn its penetrating gaze to the next game in Microsoft's "Summer of Arcade", Charlie Murder Achievements. Here at the APS, we (and by "we" I mean, "I") are nothing if not receptive to suggestions, so we (and by "we" I mean "I") are going to take your suggestion under advisement as we (and by "we" I mean "I") peer into the not-so-distant future at our next game...Charlie MurderComing out of Ska Studios (The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile Achievements, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai Achievements), Charlie Murder has 30 achievements worth 400G. Of those 30 achievements, there are no Secrets (Hooray!) and the majority of them look to be pretty evenly spread between upgrading/tattooing your character, beating levels/bosses, and beating the game in various ways. With the basics out of the way, let's dive in and see what kind of sweet, sweet pops are in store. As a child of the 80's and a lover of most things Journey, Foreigner, Back to the Future, and Dio, this achievement jumped right out, kicked me in my acid wash jeans, and made me pay attention.I Demolished You With The 80's.Crush an enemy beneath an arcade machine.3 guidesThis achievement is so full of awesome, that it practically oozes Huey Lewis. If you follow me on Twitter (@osubluejacket, if you're curious) you know that I'm a lover of great cocktails and excellent beer, making this achievement right up my alley.I'm a BrewmasterCraft a beer.1 guideNot only is it an awesome achievement, but it actually tasks you with something approximating the real task of making beer! According to the early solution from aka Scratch, you're going to need to mix Malt and Barley to create a Wort then add Yeast to ferment it. Again, totally awesome. I give this four and a half pints out of five.Getting tatted up is a sacred right of passage for some. I got my first ink right when I got out of college because YOU'RE NOT MY MOM. Anyway, the next achievement may take a bit of work along those lines.I'm All Inked UpGet ALL tattoos. Now you're a mage.1 guideThroughout the game, you'll need to acquire a total of six different tattoos, meaning that this will take a small bit of planning as you make your way through. No game would be complete without collectibles (cue groaning) and Charlie Murder is no different.I'm ThoroughFind all relics.5 guidesNailing this achievement down will no doubt earn you some brownie points in the eyes of Maude Lebowski. One of the downsides in trying to pick out which achievement will be the ratio-champion of Charlie Murder is the fact that all of the achievements have base scores between 10G and 20G, meaning a closer examination is required to determine which one might come out on top. After minutes days of consideration, I'm going to give the early clubhouse lead to this pop.I'm All Sorts of FamousGet the good ending (Total Anarchy playthrough)2 guidesBeating anything on "Total Anarchy" should be quite the challenge.Other achievements of note would be I'm The King of Rock and Roll (Get the good ending (Chaos playthrough)) and I'm a Serious Musician (Get 100% on any music minigame part). After giving the list a good look, it doesn't appear as if there's anything (aside from the difficulty-based achievements) that would prevent completionists from giving Charlie Murder a shot (for 800 MSP) when it's released next week.Be sure to join us next week, when the APS takes a look at the next entry in the Vatican's most successful coxswain training game, Saints Row Xbox 360 IV Achievements !If there's an upcoming game or DLC pack that you'd like to see featured in the Achievement Preview Spotlight, be sure to let us know in the comments!More Charlie Murder stories: Charlie Murder Title Update Live Charlie Murder Title Update Details XBLA Wednesday: August 14th, 2013 The Charlie Murder Sceniverse Summer of Arcade 2013 Priced, Dated Achievement ListUpcoming ReleaseXBLA Written by Jonathan BarnesJonathan has been a news/views contributor since 2010.
