, which will kick off next April in New Orleans, is going to be a huge event for wrestling fans all over the world and a massive milestone for the WWE itself. With WWE 2K14
creeping closer to its release, it's only right that 2K Games unleash some very juicy details on the newly-announced, upcoming '30 Years of Wrestlemania' mode that's set to be included in the title.
However old you may be, there's bound to be a heavy number of wrestling fans here on TA. The upcoming game mode will feature matches from three decades worth of legendary wrestling with names you can fully expect to see, such as The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and John Cena. Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing at 2K, had this to say on the upcoming game mode:
For nearly three decades, WWE has inspired millions worldwide through the historic, cultural and undeniable phenomenon that is WrestleMania. Through the 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode in WWE 2K14, players can now relive their favorite nostalgic and recent WrestleMania moments – from an incredible roster to authentic presentation and match play – in a unique and engaging way.
The '30 Years of Wrestlemania' mode will be a progressive single-player campaign with the player taking part in five different, distinctive eras of the WWE. Starting from the early days of Wrestlemania, players can expect to see old school elements everywhere they look, ranging from the arenas themselves to the likes of wrestler entrances, music, attire, designs, and graphics.
Not too familiar with the history of Wrestlemania? Don't worry, there will be plenty of "WWE-produced video packages" as well as cinematic and in-game cutscenes to keep you up to speed with the build up and information leading to the huge, key matches. Objectives will be included, which will give players the choice to replicate those historic, unforgettable moments that happened back in the day. After making the crowd roar down the arena or yourself scream the house down from that sweet objective completion, players will be rewarded with unlocks such as extra playable WWE Superstars, alternate gear for your wrestler to wear, new arenas, and even some old school WWE archive photography.
In these new screens, fans can take a moment to relive some of the most talked about classic matches. Two icons battle for victory as The Rock takes on Hulk Hogan, a younger Hulk Hogan makes small work of Andre the Giant, and The Rock can be seen again firing up the crowd as John Cena nurses his wounds:
Now for a look at the same wrestlers, but this time in artwork form. Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and The Rock all pose for even more coverage. Who's your favourite out of these guys, or is your legend missing from these screens?
