As we explained back in April
, and then again in May
, licensing for music games, such as the Rock Band
series, is a tricky business. Tracks are often licensed for only a set period of time. As a result, once that licensing period expires, the tracks in question get pulled from the Marketplace. Compared against the entirety of the Rock Band
catalog, the number of delisted songs is tiny, but it still has an impact on those who want those tunes in their libraries.
Unfortunately, the time has come for another round of delistings. First up, we have a single track getting delisted on August 28th:
Next up, we have a long list of delistings coming up on September 30th. This is mostly because a bunch of songs from a single band are leaving the Marketplace at once.
Don't forget that once you've paid for a track, it's yours forever. This means that if you've downloaded a track previously, but have since deleted it, you can always access it by going to your download history. Unlike May's delisting notice, none of these tracks will affect your ability to earn an achievement, so picking any of these up would be based solely on your desire to have the song in your collection.
