Many games were announced during E3. Many of those announcements came with trailers and/or screenshots. Virtually all of them came with at least a few gameplay details. Not Peggle 2
. In fact, all that we got during EA's keynote speech was, "...coming this year, Peggle 2!". Oh, did I forget the brief few seconds of Peggle
theme tune? Well, luckily for you, Gamescom has finally brought more details on the title.Peggle 2
will bring new levels and "new and improved" power-ups to use in those levels. Players can customise the "Peggle Masters" that host your game. Kinect can be used for gesture controls.
Multiplayer modes will be returning to the title, although we don't have any further details on these. I'll let EA explain things a little further:
Just as in the classic original, Peggle 2 combines elements of pinball, pachinko and billiards and adds liberal doses of whimsy, fun, excitement and challenge – not to mention rainbows and a fifth of Beethoven.
Jared Neuss, the game's Lead Producer, had this to say:
With Peggle 2, we’re taking everything that our fans love about Peggle and bringing it to another level. The new Peggle Masters have tons of personality, their powers are all completely over the top and there is a massive amount of content for players to explore. We’re also focused on taking full advantage of all that the Xbox One has to offer by giving our fans new ways to control the game, share their favorite moments and compete with their friends.
If you can't watch the trailer, check out the screenshots below:
As we revealed earlier, Peggle 2
will be a launch title
for the Xbox One. The game will launch first on the next-gen console but will find its way to other platforms at a later date. It is uncertain whether this will include the Xbox 360.
