Yesterday saw the release of the free “Operation: Hydra” DLC for Halo: Spartan Assault
on Windows 8 PCs, tablets and Windows Phone 8. The expansion added five new missions as well as five achievements, worth 50G, across all devices, but one other little feature may have escaped the attention of many.
Support for wired Xbox 360 controllers has also been added for those with the Windows 8 PC and tablet version. Unfortunately, if you have the Windows Phone version you’ll have to continue with the touch screen controls.
It should also be noted that after updating the Windows 8 version, cloud saves are currently not accessible. It seems as if this issue only affects those using Windows 8 and not the Windows Phone 8. 343 Industries is aware of the issue and is currently working to resolve it. Any progress that has been made in game so far has not been lost and should be restored soon.
