PES 2014 Reveals Every Game Mode

By Rebecca Smith, 3 years ago
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is promising to bring a fair number of game modes to the table when it releases later this month. Thanks to a handful of new screenshots and information on the Winning Eleven 2014 website, we can give you a complete list of what you can expect.

Main Menu

Match

Match allows gamers to play a single match against AI or against friends. Exhibition Match mode returns and offers the options to play a match in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Copa Libertadores or AFC Champions League, as well as the normal custom Exhibition Match. If you don't want to play the Exhibition Match you can choose to watch it instead in the Exhibition Watch Mode. Ranking Match also returns and there are lobbies for Free Match and Team play.

Football Life

Football Life has been included in the PES franchise since Pro Evolution Soccer 2012. There are three game modes within this category.

Master League lets players transfer across Europe, Asia and South Africa to become club manager and create your ideal Master team. For the first time, players can also become the manager of the National teams too.

Master League

Become A Legend lets players become the best player that they can be. The mode is no longer limited to field players -- you can become the best goalkeeper too if you want. As well as keeping a clean sheet, you can become team captain, issue orders on the pitch and lead your team to victory.

Become A Legend

Master League Online allows players to compete online in their bid to create the ideal Master team. To try and encourage players to mix things up, Konami has introduced a salary cap system that gives players a fixed budget. It also stops players creating incredibly over-powered teams.

Competition

After going AWOL in Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, League mode returns. This category offers separate modes for UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Copa Libertadores and AFC Champions League. If you don't want to specialise or complete a league, try out Cup mode or Online Competition.

Training

Performance Training offers a series of tutorials to be able to play the game on Basic difficulty. Free Training offers a little more flexibility. If you want to practice free kicks, penalty kicks, and corner kicks repeatedly, then you can do so. You can also get to grips with the new Combination plan feature in Free Training.
