You've probably heard a lot about Blacklight: Tango Down
lately. It's one of those games which has, titillated, teased, yet remained elusive to all.
If you've not heard anything about it, or need a quick refresh, let's get that out of the way first:
In BlackLight: Tango Down, players are equipped with high-tech, futuristic gear that makes combat fascinating and surreal. Its weapon customization system allows for trillions of different configurations that deliver unlimited adaptability and variety of gameplay. Each player is also equipped with a Hyper Reality Visor (HRV), an advanced imaging system in the player’s Heads up Display that detects nearby enemy and friendly forces and relays the information back to players, giving them immediate battlefield intelligence.
The title enjoyed exposure at this years E3 show and wowed the crowds and critics alike. IGN awarded the title a nomination for 'Best Shooter', whilst Machinma plumped for a nomination within the category of Best Online Multiplayer.
We were told to expect the game in the summer of 2010 with no specifics or information beyond that release window. However, Ignition Entertainment, the publishers involved with Blacklight: Tango Down
issued the following statement:
After months of anticipation and an overwhelmingly positive reception at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, Ignition Entertainment announced that BlackLight: Tango Down will be available for download on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft tomorrow (July 7th)
The XBLA title will include:
-12 multiplayer maps
- 7 game types
- 4 co-op missions; and
- Literally trillions of weapon combinations
The download will set you back 1200 MSP
