Activision and Bungie have announced an early 2014 Beta program for those who pre-order the upcoming sci-fi epic Destiny
from select retailers around the world. Participants in this beta will be able to try their hand at sampling some of the various activities which will ultimately be available for everyone else when the game officially releases in Spring 2014.
The number of available beta codes will naturally depend on supply, so make sure you get in fast. Once you have pre-ordered the game, you should received a 9 digit code (either printed on your receipt, on a flyer distributed at time of purchase or sent via email through the retailers rewards program). Then you can simply visit the official beta site here
, and follow the prompts.
If you had already pre-ordered Destiny before October 1st 2013, then you will automatically be entered in the Beta. In that case, keep your eyes on your email inbox's for the relevant codes.

CEO of Activision Publishing Eric Hirshberg is certainly getting excited for this upcoming beta:
We have no doubt Destiny is not only a great action game but also the next great entertainment property. That means we’re putting all our creative support, and all our expertise in creating blockbuster franchises, into a colossal Destiny Beta that we believe will set a new bar for the next generation of games. Fans have a lot to look forward to in 2014.
Bungie President Harold Ryan continues:
Destiny is the most ambitious game we have ever made, and it’s our chance to transform the way you experience a new Bungie universe. From day one Destiny has been an incredibly bold vision that Activision shares with Bungie. Destiny is a massive universe that is populated by the players, and for that reason we need fans to get their hands on the game, fans all around the world. We can’t wait!
As part of the Beta announcement the publishers have also unleashed a brand new gameplay trailer titled "The Moon", which shows off some amazingly futuristic action, as well as the "Hive" enemy type. I'm struggling to come up with a way to describe what is shown here, suffice to say that it looks gorgeous:
We've also uncovered some detailed screenshots of all the action from our nearest celestial body:Destiny
will be reaching for the stars when it officially releases in Spring 2014 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
