Deus Ex Heads Towards the Next Generation

Some of you may already have heard about Deus Ex Universe. Square Enix registered the name on September 10th but little else was said, leaving many to speculate whether this will be the next game in the Deus Ex franchise. While Universe will not be the next title, we can bring you a little snippet of information about the new title that will be heading to the next generation of consoles, and more information about Universe itself.

Deus Ex: Universe is set to be an "ongoing, expanding and connected game world" that aims to create a deep conspiracy and deliver new content that will span several connected Deus Ex PC and console games. There will be games presented using other platforms, such as tablets or smartphones, and there will be books and graphic novels all aiming to create a Deus Ex universe.

The universe is about to begin with a new game that is already in development for PC and next generation consoles. Little else is known about the game, but Eidos Montreal did deliver this piece of concept art:

Concept Art

The artwork depicts trans-human segregation, which is one of the main themes of the next game. A dark "ghetto-city" has been built to help segregate and separate the different classes. The people shown in the artwork have changed their environment to try and achieve a representation of their ideal vision of Cyber Renaissance.

When we get more information on the upcoming title, we'll be sure to let you know.
