Electronic Arts has announced that it has partnered with professional rally driver Ken Block in a new multi-year deal. This deal will see Block act in an advisory role on the Need for Speed
series, with his knowledge and professional insights helping to push the franchise ahead of the competition.
Ken Block had the following to say on the partnership:
Partnering with EA and Need for Speed is a natural fit for our team. I feel like we both have the same goal in mind – to let people live out a fantasy of really pushing the limits of what you can do in the driver’s seat.
Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer of Need for Speed Rivals
I couldn’t think of a more exciting and more appropriate partner to have for Need for Speed. Ken’s a true master of drifting, handling, and really turning the streets into a playground for cars. We were already huge fans of his at Ghost, and we know he will be a great asset in helping us provide gamers the most adrenaline-filled and fun racing experience in the industry as we move forward.
Also, as part of this new deal, Need for Speed
will be sponsoring Block, his Ford Fiesta ST 2013 rally car and Gymkhana SIX, the latest instalment of Block’s award-winning, viral video series, which will be available to watch via the Need for Speed
website and YouTube channel from November 11th.
The next game in the Need for Speed
franchise, Need for Speed Rivals
will be available for the Xbox 360 from November 19th in North America and in Europe on November 22nd. The Xbox One version will be available worldwide, at the console’s launch, on November 22nd.
