For those of you looking forward to Techland's new fantasy-themed IP Hellraid
, you will have to wait a bit longer than expected. It was announced that Hellraid
would be hitting consoles sometime before the end of 2013, but this is no longer the case as it has been pushed back to a undetermined date in 2014.
The announcement and reasoning came from the official Hellraid blog, stating:
If we released our game this year we would have to make too many compromises and the final product probably wouldn’t meet all our promises and players’ expectations.
This can either come to you as good news because they want more polish from the game, or bad news because you will have to wait a bit longer. Producer Mark Kruczkiewicz wants to assure fans that this of the best interest for everyone, stating:
For example we want to redesign the magic system to make it even more powerful and diverse, add new ways of casting spells and a set of new, more visually stunning spells.
In addition, with this delay Techland will be adding new game modes for both the single player and four-player co-op experiences. If you have yet to check into Hellraid
, take a look at the E3 gameplay trailer
as well as some of the previous screenshots
that have been released.
Hopefully, with the added time for polish, we will see a much better game when Hellraid
releases in 2014.
