Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Announced

Developer Monolith Productions and Warner Brothers Interactive have teamed up once again to bring you another game set within the Lord of the Rings universe called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Their previous effort, Guardians of Middle-earth, has been well received by you all, sitting at 3.9/5 rating on TA.

However, enough about that. Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor is a third-person action game where gamers take on the role of a ranger named Talion. Every great story has a tragedy, yes? Well, Talion's family is slaughtered right in front of him by the forces of Sauron, then his life is taken as well. A Spirit of Vengence resurrects Talion and empowers him with Wraith-like abilities to give him a fighting chance against the perpetrators who have wronged him.

The landscape of Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor will be dark and gritty and the decisions that players make along the way will have consequences (a la Fable). One defining feature within the game is called the "Nemesis System". Throughout the journey in Mordor you will encounter enemies (obviously); the catch is that each one has a unique name and each one has their own personality, strengths, and weakness. Players will develop enemy relationships throughout the game that can potentially lead to the creation of archenemies should you fail to kill them. Enemies that survive a battle with you will grow in power and skills and even affect the gameplay world, making each playthrough different.

Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor does not have a release date yet, but it will be released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Hello everyone! I joined the Newshound group of TrueAchievements back in June 2013. Gaming has always been a passion of mine, up until recently I was a huge score-whore but have recently slacked off a bit. Not to brag or anything, but I do hold the top position in TA Score among the Newshounds (much to Michelle's displeasure...lol). I'm always up for boosting some of the older multiplayer games, so if you need help I'll try to find time in my schedule to help out! I'm also a huge Marvel Comics fan and Moon Knight is my favorite character, period. Excelsior!
