is set for its return alongside the launch of next-generation consoles this month. NBA LIVE 14
may need to prove itself to win over gaming ballers. While the NBA Live
franchise was on hiatus, the NBA 2K
series showed that it wasn’t going to rest on its laurels just because it was running unopposed. Also, given that the hiatus and subsequent game cancellations for EA basketball games were due to quality issues, it will take more than the Live
namesake or hype to carry the torch.
EA Sports recognizes this, and hopes to win you back for the next-gen. NBA Live 14
looks to put its money where its mouth is with a demo available this week. When you hook up your Xbox One for the first time on launch day, you’ll be able to seek out one of the system’s first demos in the form of EA’s basketball sim.
The demo, like the full game, will feature live updated stats integrated into the game. Four teams will be at your disposal: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, and the Golden State Warriors. There will also be a sampling of the game’s BIG Moments mode, as well as a taste of Ultimate Team featuring some of the NBA’s young stars. The Ultimate Team roster for the demo includes: Kyrie Irving, John Wall, Victor Oladipo, Ricky Rubio, Damian Lillard, and Kemba Walker.NBA Live 14
arrives with the launch of Xbox One on November 22nd, and is exclusively available on next-generation consoles only.
