Three months have passed since we last heard anything about Minicore Studios' platforming title Laika Believes. The silence was caused by a bit of confusion over the game's title. People may have heard of the films ParaNorman and Coraline; these were developed by a company called Laika. This company believed that there was enough confusion caused by the game's name that there was a chance of impending legal action. To avoid this, Minicore has renamed their game as The Sun at Night.
The story and the characters within the game remain the same. The game is still very much about the story of a space dog called Laika. Unfortunately, the latest blog post from the developer reveals that the version of the game that was heading to Xbox LIVE Arcade is far from concrete. After contacting Minicore to clarify the situation, the studio's CEO John Warren confirmed that an XBLA port is "not dead", but they do not have "any concrete news today about that". Despite Microsoft's new indie-publishing policies, the studio still finds themselves in the situation of needing a third-party publisher to bring their game to the Xbox 360. Negotiations are still ongoing.
