was the last game to be revealed at this year's VGX awards and it finished them off in style. Respawn took the opportunity to reveal two new kinds of mech that players will be able to use within the game. The first was the Ogre, who specialises in melee combat and has his own finishing move by ripping its enemy's arm off and using it to beat them to death. Would you like to see this in action? I thought as much.
The different types of mechs will have different abilities. The Ogre is more heavily armoured but moves slower as a result. Other mechs will move more quickly but have less armour. Players will unlock different mechs as they progress. This will mean that there will be a mix of different types of mech within the same game.
As seen in the above trailer, Hammond Robotics is the company that creates the mechs. They were busy creating a second type of mech to be revealed: the Stryder. Details about this mech are still shrouded in secrecy.
If gamers wish to play competitive multiplayer without worrying about any of the back story, there will be the traditional modes in which players can do this. Alternatively, there will be other modes that are integrated with the story behind Titanfall
. If players only wish to specialise in one of the game types, they can do this too.
For those wondering, there will definitely not be Kinect integration on either platform. Respawn's Vince Zampella also stated that they are thinking about a beta but that this is far from definite. Stay peeled to TA for the latest news.Titanfall
is due to be released on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on March 11th, 2014 in North America and March 13th in Europe.
