Xbox gamers will be familiar with Hello Games as the developer of Joe Danger: Special Edition
and Joe Danger 2: The Movie
. The four-man team is currently heading in a completely different direction with the development of their next title, No Man's Sky
Not wishing to be typecast as the Joe Danger
developer, the team are developing a first-person science fiction title with an emphasis on reality. Players will be able to explore a huge landscape, with land, sea and space all being accessible. To give you some idea of how large this game is, players will be able to explore a mountain that is three miles away. A planet in the sky will be a real place with features, so players can get into a ship and explore. When players look into the night-time sky, each star will be a sun that is surrounded by planets, all of which can be visited.
The game will have a multiplayer emphasis where everybody plays in the same universe, so your actions will have consequences for other people too. Don't think that this game will be safe and serene -- all planets have ecology and an ecosystem and you may not necessarily be at the top of the food-chain. Exploring can be dangerous and there will definitely be combat happening in space and on planets.

During an interview with Hello Games' Sean Murray, presenter Geoff Keighley revealed that the developer was working for "next-gen". As Hello Games is not amongst the first wave of developers to be announced for Microsoft's ID@Xbox scheme
, we aren't certain that this means that the title will be heading to Xbox One. If it does, we'll be sure to let you know!
