Konami have unveiled details on an awesome content exclusive that will be included with Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, in the form of the "Jamais Vu" mission, which features series regular Raiden doing his thing in a Cuban containment camp. The mission will pay homage to the classic 1988 game Snatcher, which was also produced by Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima:
The mission begins with Raiden charged with investigating an alleged biorobotic incursion, and dropped on the periphery of the camp. Thus, the augmented hero must gain access and secure firm evidence of the “bioroid” presence – dubbed ‘Snatchers’ by the intelligence group. The Snatchers, while externally disguised as marines, produce an inhuman X-Ray when tagged using the game’s marking system. Raiden must locate and eliminate the imposters while evading capture by the unaware humans charged with guarding the base.Check out the following screenshots to get a better idea of what's in store:
It's no secret that Metal Gear Solid franchise has its roots in stealth gameplay, and Konami want to let their fans know that gameplay will be wildly affected by playing under the cover of night rather than in the glaring daylight.
For example, during the day time you are more likely to be spotted and risk turning a simple operation into an all out gunfight. Under the cover of darkness though, you can reach your objective without alerting anyone that you were even there. This is certainly the case in the previously posted "Night Mission" gameplay video, as Big Boss tries to complete a secondary objective using a pure stealth strategy at nighttime to extract a POW from the "Camp Omega" blacksite.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is set to be released on March 18th, 2014 in North America and March 20th in Europe. It will cost $29.99 (or $19.99 digital download) on Xbox 360 and $39.99 (or $29.99 digital download) on "next generation" consoles.
