Fight Night Championship is the fifth iteration of the Fight Night series from EA sports. EA assures consumers that this is not an expansion of Fight Night Round 4, but a new, standalone retail game.
EA Canada is in full hype mode with the game:
Fight Night Champion will break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing.
This new installment to the series will have a roster of 60 to 65 boxers. IGN interviewed EA Canada and discovered a new "Full Spectrum Punch Control". The idea that combatants can move around the ring and throw heavy punches to their opponent. According to IGN, EA Sports is claiming that this is the "most realistic punching system ever seen" and still will be the "most user-friendly title in the franchise's history". I think Little Mac has something to say about the most realistic punching system ever...
(Full Spectrum Punch Control can never live up to THAT!)
Fight Night Championship will be hitting game shelves in 2011.
