Kingdom Come: Deliverance Unveiled

Don't you just love RPG's? Fighting crazy beasts in a fantasy world and levelling up until you're the most overpowered being in the galaxy is too much to resist for many gamers. Many fans of the genre will be happy to know that a brand new IP has been announced in the form of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which promises to be a unique and fresh take on the RPG genre.

Warhorse Studios, who are developing the game, describe it as a "realistic open world first person medieval RPG" (quite a lot to get your tongue around, isn't it?), so hopefully that promise will come to fruition once the game hits the shelves. With sprawling, immersive environments and revolutionary, first-person melee combat, Warhorse Studios are planning big things with the maturing sandbox genre and the game's non-linear narrative. A little bit of information in relation to the game's setting and gameplay has been revealed to give us a flavour of what to expect.

Rooted within the Holy Roman Empire during the late Middle Ages, Kingdom Come: Deliverance promises a first-person seat to a harsh and brutal power struggle for the throne. As players traverse expansive, strikingly detailed locales, they’ll grapple with a range of period-accurate fighting techniques, horseback combat, open-field sieges, and large-scale battles, all while developing relationships and a reputation that will inform the greater story. Kingdom Come: Deliverance promises no magic, high fantasy or mythical overtones - it draws its inspiration instead from historically authentic characters, themes, and warfare.

A few teaser screenshots have also been made available to us alongside the game's announcement.

Announcement screenshots never seem to be the same unless they come with a teaser trailer as well!

On the game's official website, a glaring counter is also counting down to when we get more information. Just over a month to wait! As a lover of RPG's, I will be keeping a close eye on that counter. We still have a fair way to go until the full game releases, though. Kingdom Come: Deliverance currently has a release window of 2015 and will be coming to next gen consoles.

To summarize Marc in two words, it would be "Christian Gamer." You will usually find him getting stuck into story heavy action-adventure games, RPG's and the odd quirky title when he isn't raving about Dark Souls and Mass Effect. Outside the world of gaming, Marc attends and helps out in his church on a regular basis and has a not-so thrilling job in a supermarket.
