A few days ago, we posted about the impending delisting
, which will be known as Skullgirls: Encore
when it arrives back on the store. A new build of the game has now been submitted for approval for the marketplace, the first step towards getting the game re-released minus any mentions of Konami.
Autumn Games have also announced that a new game mode will be coming with the re-release. Entitled 'The Typing of the Skullgirls Encore', this new mode turns every super into a typing mini-game to decide its damage. Perfectly spelling what you've been given will give you 150% damage, whilst completing the word or phrase with some errors will have no affect. Failing to type fast enough will result in your super only dealing 10% of damage, however. According to Mike Z, one of the developers of the game, this mode will be perfect for teaming up with friends, including those who don't usually play fighting games, and battling though the Story mode or Versus Battles.
When Skullgirls: Encore
arrives on the marketplace, which is expected to be before the end of January 2014, both the "Skullgirls Character Palette Bundle"
and "Squigly" DLC will become free for a limited time.
