At this point in the preview onslaught, Dickens would blush over the amount of ink that has been used to sing the praises of Respawn Entertainment's maiden voyage, Titanfall
. After garnering a garage full of "Best in Show" and "Most Anticipated" awards, it may be time to start matching expectations and hype with reality. With that being said, the first wet blanket has been tossed by co-founder, Vince Zampella, who took to Twitter
to confirm the max player count for the upcoming shooter:
6v6 is max player count. Turned out to be the best balance with AI for us.
He went on to add:
That's humans only count. There are lots of AI, everyone can have a Titan in follow or guard mode too.
While many games have boasted huge-capacity multiplayer battles and skirmishes, Titanfall
appears to be keeping things neat and tidy by limiting the human element to six-versus-six, while also throwing in some AI enemies and teammates. Titanfall
is set to hit the Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 11th, 2014 in North America and March 13th in Europe.
