At D.I.C.E. Summit 2014 last week, Keiji Inafune of Comcept released pictures of the final unknown character for Mighty No. 9
: Mighty No. 7. For those who haven't been following this game, it's another successful kickstarter. Inafune, of Megaman
fame, went to the fans to fund his upcoming title, smashing all of his new company's goals by topping $4 million raised and allowing him to bring his new platformer to multiple consoles, including next-gen. Fans have played a huge role in the game, not only in its funding but in much of its character development as well, and Mighty No. 7 is finally here.
Originally, Inafune tried a design based on his scissor-headed main character in The Island of Dr. Momo
, but he wasn't pleased with the results.
He then replaced the scissor idea with blades, and Mighty No. 7 was born, a fast, stealthy ninja character.
With Mighty No. 7 now in place, all nine characters have been revealed.Mighty No. 9
is expected on all platforms early 2015.
