No More Patches Planned for Batman: Arkham Origins

In terms of glitches, games are rarely (if ever) perfect. Increasingly, as they become bigger and more complex, in addition to the pressure to adhere to strict release windows, these bugs and glitches often sneak their way into the release day copies. However, companies often work to iron out these niggles with incremental patches over time. Sometimes, instead of getting this post-release support, a game will remain unpatched or patches will dry up with glitches remaining, however it's rare that a company will come out publicly and say, "Yeh, we know it's broken, but we ain't fixing it". Unfortunately, Warner Bros Interactive did just that recently with a post from a Community Manager known as Mercury over on the WBGames forum regarding the ongoing issues in their popular prequel, Batman: Arkham Origins. They had the following news for the community of Batman fans salivating for a new patch:

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.
As you can see on the WBgames forum thread, the community responses are less than glowing, but let's hear your thoughts about the decision to potentially not patch the already much patched game further and the decision to announce that decision to the world.

Flame On!
Oh, wait, wrong franchise.
