XBL Content Roundup: February 11th, 2014

By Rebecca Smith,
Do you know that drought of content that I've been referencing for a few weeks now? I'm officially declaring an end today. We have new items for Games on Demand, Xbox LIVE Arcade and retail DLC. Before we begin, I will mention that there is also DLC for four games on the Xbox One. There are two FREE items for Zoo Tycoon (Xbox One) on which we, unfortunately, don't have details. The "Fallen Angel" DLC has released for Dead Rising 3 and we suggest that you head here for further details. Finally, there is also new DLC for
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Just Dance 2014 (Xbox One); we have details on the equivalent Xbox 360 DLC below. As none of this content is listed on Xbox.com, we're unable to provide links and regional pricing.

Arcade Games

We'll start with the Xbox LIVE Arcade arrival. As a rare release for a Tuesday, the HD remake of the first title in the Far Cry franchise takes us by surprise as it is released a day early in all regions.

Far Cry Classic
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Size: 1.96 GB
Price: US$9.99 / £7.99 / €9.99 / AU$13.45
Far Cry Classic is the ultimate console version of the very first Far Cry game, bringing you back to the roots of this franchise. It's another beautiful day in tropical paradise...or is it? Take the role of charter boat captain, Jack Carver, who finds himself hunted by an unrelenting team of highly trained mercenaries in this nature-gone-wrong FPS adventure. Choose to rely on firepower, strategy or stealth, abuse your freedom into massive outdoor environments, and fight for your life against tactically intelligent enemies. Features stunningly realistic foliage, real-time day and night cycles, drivable underwater, commandeer, or even flying vehicles, and more...

Retail DLC without Achievements

None of today's DLC adds new achievements to any of the six games. The DLC for two of the titles is region exclusive. If it is released later this week in other regions, I will update this article with the correct prices. [UPDATE] The DLC for one title has since been released in all regions. Pricing is below.

I was worried that the ACIV multiplayer pack #2 would contain achievements. Fortunately I won't have to deal with anything on that front.

I may pick up some of the FF costumes, but I'll wait until I have the game in hand, and know if they actually make a difference in battle. I dislike spending money just for a skin.

That's actually pretty close, based on current exchange rates. Once you get rid of government taxes (included in the Euro price but not in the US price) the price difference is only about $0.75.

I wonder if Ubisoft will fuck us over on the AC IV season pass. Discount on Liberation, MP Pack #1 & 2 and Freedom Cry were not worth the price. They better do something better dammit.
