Earlier this month, Square Enix announced the third installment to the Dungeon Siege franchise, Dungeon Siege III. This is part of Square Enix's push to establish itself as a Western RPG publisher. It is being developed by the chaps at Obsidian Entertainment. Those same fine folks who are bring you Fallout: New Vegas, Alpha Protocol, and Knights of the Old Republic 2.
Square Enix finally put the debut trailer for the game up online:
The game's story will focus on the kingdom of Ehb. Ehb is home to various factions that battle it out for power of the kingdom itself, and that balance of power is tipping towards the wrong side. Your character will be entrenched with the 10th Legion. The 10th Faction was once the protectors of Ehb, but has since fallen out from grace. Your job will be to adventure across Ehb and vanquish the evil by defeating "all manner of villains and beasts" and you will do so "through a combination of heroic abilities, screen shaking magic, and fearsome weapons."
Dungeon Siege 3 will be an action RPG, with no release date announced.
