A couple of weeks ago, Undead Labs revealed a very vague tease
in the shape of new DLC content for State of Decay
, titled "Lifeline". The developer promised "a new way to play..." the title, but little else was given away.
Gamers will get to control a group of soldiers, known as Greyhound One, with the aim of making decisions for the greater good and bringing some sense to the chaos. The team at Undead Labs believe that this is a break from the tradition of using soldiers as the "go-to badguys" in video games. Greyhound One will need to set up base to gather supplies, and evacuate civilians (mainly those scientists who are working hard to fight the outbreak), in hostile and high-pressure circumstances.
"Lifeline" will effectively take the vice versa stance to that of the main game. Greyhound One will begin as a well-equipped outfit, who then have to fight for survival as one by one their resources succumb, rather than the previous approach of building your inventory as you progress.
No release date or price details have been confirmed yet for the DLC content. However, Undead Labs has indicated that more details will be revealed about "Lifeline" in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
